6:30 pm: – Mac Basics

7:00 pm: – Online Backup Part 1 – the Second Method of Backing up Your Mac
Wireless is available, so bring your laptops.
Backing up your computer is essential, but the great majority of people neglect it. When the hard drive in their computer fails, they lose all its contents: documents, financial records, photos, movies, music. Most people who do backups use a local method such as an external hard drive or DVDs. However, local backups need to be supplemented with online backups that protect your data in case your local backups are destroyed by fire, theft, or flood. There are an increasing number of online backup solutions now available. GMUG President David Kline, will navigate us through the various online backup options, explaining how to find the one that meets your needs. Since there are a large number of options to cover, the online backup presentation will be divided into two parts. The first part will be presented at the GMUG meeting on Monday, June 8.

The second part will be given the next evening, Tuesday, June 9, at the Mac Beginnings meeting.
PLUS, Apple’s week-long World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC), starts this Monday, June 8, with its highly anticipated keynote and the news it will bring. We hope Bobby Morrison will have information about the announcements to share with us on Monday night.
