Last night I spoke with fellow group members on the leadership team and they gave me the go ahead to create a group for GreenvilleMUG on Facebook. I’ve been using Facebook on a regular basis for the past few months and have reconnected with old classmates and other people I have known personally or have connected with through blogging or forums on the Internet. This is a good way to connect with others in the community who have our common interest in Macs, etc. To join the group you first need to sign into Facebook under your current account or register for an account for the first time. Once in do a search for “Greenville Mac User’s Group” and look for the “join this group” link on the right side of the page.
I’d love to be able to send a direct link to the group page on Facebook but Facebook is pretty much closed from the outside. I hope this will be a good way to reach out to other Mac users in the area and get to know each other better at the same time.
I was inspired to set up this group as a result of another local networking group I am involved in having a group, The Upstate Entrepreneur’s Forum (UEF).

In know this is a very late notice, but you may be able to pass the info along to your members.
The Greer Macintosh User Group (GreerMUG) will be launching a Digital Photography Special Interest Group this Tuesday, June 19, 2007. Alex Hyman of Phil Hyman Photography will be heading up this group. There are no fees or dues for the group and participants are encouraged to bring their cameras for the first meeting.
GreerMUG knows that every user group does not have the time or resources to have a special interest group in every category that is wanted/needed so we thought we’d let our fellow area groups know about the photo SIG. If this photo SIG will be a help to your group, feel free to pass the info along to your members. We’d be happy for any Mac enthusiast be a part of the SIG. Likewise, if you have special interest groups that you wouldn’t mind other MUGs benefiting from, please let us know and we’ll pass the info along to our members.
This first Photo SIG meeting will start at 7:00pm and be held at iPlace Technology Solutions.
Thanks for your time and again I apologize for the late notice.
